It's Recipe time! (:
Today's Recipe is Salmon Cakes. I haven't had salmon cakes in my adulthood and I suddenly got the taste for salmon cakes after eating a fresh piece of salmon for dinner a couple of weeks ago. I remember eating salmon cakes, fried potatoes, and cornbread as a meal growing up and that is exactly what I made for dinner. I knew the general things that goes into making salmon cakes but I wanted to look up a recipe so get some insight and also to have one to share with you all!

When I say these salmon cakes were amazing!!!! They were so good. I will be going to the store to get more cans of salmon very soon.
These are the ingredients that I used
All of the ingredients that I used were the same as on the website besides the Dijon mustard. I used spicy mustard instead.
This was the final product with the fried potatoes. The fried potatoes had onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, and garlic.
When I was a child I don't think I put anything sauce wise on my salmon cakes or potatoes but now as an adult I am a sauce connoisseur. I love tartar sauce and hot sauce on fried fish so I decided to make my own! It's so simple and I knew that we already had all of the ingredients needed to make it.

I used all of the ingredients as is on the recipe, except for I used real lemon juice from a fresh cut lemon and then I didn't add the onion to it because raw onion gets to be too strong when it sits in the fridge for a few days. We didn't have relish so I asked my fiance to chop up some of his sweet butter pickles and it worked just the same. The picture isn't very "picture perfect" but I still included it since I made it lol And of course, with everything homemade tastes so much better than store bought because you can make it exactly how you like it and know exactly what's in it.
This meal was undoubtedly amazing and brought so much joy to my fiance and I.
